As the time draw nears for Kimber to enter the world and exit the womb, friends and family gathered together to celebrate with a baby shower. The shower was held at my sister-in-law’s brother’s house and was informal. As previously reported, my gift is a year of cloth diaper service; however, I was responsible for doing the shopping for my grandmother and aunt Ruth.
Baby Shower Gifts: The Recommendations
My aunt decided to go with an item that was on Lori’s gift registry: the Fisher Price SpaceSaver High Chair.
Lori selected this item, as most of her registry items, based on the long-term use of the products. In this instance, the high chair can be used through multiple stages of growth and takes up less space than other high chairs. It can be strapped to a kitchen chair and has three height adjustments and three-position recline while the tray stays level. The seat pad is supposed to be spill resistant and machine washable. It can convert to a booster seat.
The second item that I picked up on behalf of my grandmother was a baby rocker made my Hoohobbers in Chicago.
Lori had a bouncer on her registry, but it was made in China and my family has committed to reducing the number of foreign made products we purchase. So, I found the rocker from Hoohobbers and selected it for my grandmother’s shower gift.
This item has several features that make it a nice selection for new parents. First, it compacts almost flat for easy storage.
According to Hoohobbers, the baby rocker allows babies to calm themselves by creating a gentle rocking motion when they move. They indicate that the natural rocking motion is more soothing than a traditional bouncer. It has a deep, soft sling that surrounds and supports the baby. The toy bar removes and all of the fabrics can be removed and machine washed.
Shower Location And Concept
Unlike Baby Shower Number One of 2011, this shower was held in a relative’s home. There were several games but the one with the most enthusiastic response was the baby bottle drinking contest. Participants were given a baby bottle filled with juice and challenged to be the first one to drink the contents.
My Favorite Decoration
There is a theme running in my attendance at baby showers. I am in love with the balloons selected.
The monkey balloon was my favorite decoration. The diaper cake was created by the host of the shower. And a lovely cupcake cake welcoming Kimber Grace was served at the conclusion of the festivities.
Soon To Arrive: Kimber Grace
With only 22 days until Kimber is scheduled to arrive, we wish Lori and Kimber a safe and healthy three weeks and an uneventful delivery.
